Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mitoshi ("the App"), developed by Reo Azuma ("the Developer"), handles your information. The App is a personal financial-independence simulator and is provided "as is".
Summary
The App has no user accounts and no server operated by the Developer. Everything you enter stays on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, your data is stored in your own private iCloud account, which the Developer cannot access. The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Information you provide
You may enter financial-planning information such as your current and target ages, assets and liabilities, income and expenses, life events, saving plans, and periodic balance records. You may optionally attach a photo as evidence for a balance record. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is used only to run simulations and show results inside the App.
iCloud sync (optional)
The App includes an optional setting to sync your data across your Apple devices using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). When it is enabled:
- Your data is stored in the private database of your personal iCloud account.
- The Developer has no access to this data and cannot read, export, or delete it.
- Storage and transmission are handled by Apple and are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms.
- You can stop syncing at any time by turning the setting off, or by disabling iCloud for the App in iOS Settings.
If sync is off, your data does not leave your device except in a backup you choose to make.
Photos
If you attach an evidence photo, the App requests read access to your photo library so you can select and remove those images. If you export a share video as a Live Photo, the App requests permission to add that item to your photo library. Selected images are stored with your App data (on device, and in your private iCloud database if sync is on). The App does not scan or upload your photo library.
On-device processing
Text recognition (reading amounts from a screenshot you pick) and any on-device AI explanation features run entirely on your device using Apple frameworks. Their content is not sent to the Developer or any third party.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device to prompt you to record balances. Nothing is sent off the device for this.
Purchases
Paid features are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the transaction and your payment information; the Developer never receives your payment details. Purchase status is checked on your device via StoreKit.
Third parties
The App includes no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services. The only third party involved is Apple, acting as the infrastructure provider for iCloud sync and App Store purchases, under Apple's own terms.
Data retention and deletion
- Local data: deleting the App removes its on-device data.
- iCloud data: to remove synced data, open iOS Settings, tap your name, tap iCloud, find this App under apps using iCloud, and delete its data.
Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS's app sandbox and device encryption. Data in iCloud is protected by Apple's encryption in transit and at rest as described in Apple's documentation. Because financial data can be sensitive, protect your device with a passcode / Face ID and use a strong Apple Account password with two-factor authentication.
Children
The App is rated 4+, is not directed to children, and the Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
